NOMAS x SxS Chinatown-International District Crawl
On May 23rd 2025, Side x Side hosted University of Washington architecture students and local community members for a CID crawl, one event in the lineup of an Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander heritage month celebration series by NOMAS UW (National Organization of Minority Architecture Students). We started off our morning with pastries at the SxS HQ, and presented our firm’s work, mission, and vision for equitable environments. Next, we toured the Eng Family Homestead, Canton Alley Windows, Hing Hay Coworks, and King Street Station Space, seeing how the design of these spaces began and how they have been used by organizations. It was an honor and joy to not only share our work with others, but also to learn about passions and values that the next generation of architects are bringing to the design field. Bright minds are on the horizon! (First image illustrated by NOMAS UW)
